the cottage
Varty Lake Cottage is a modern, detached, 2 bedroom, 850 sq. foot, recently renovated (2023) vacation home that sleeps 7 and includes EV Charger, recreational water toys, badminton net, keypad entry & firepit.
The property itself sits level to the lake with 70 feet of shoreline and faces direct west, to perfectly catch the stunning, nightly sunsets. It is so well-treed, you can’t see it from the road! The abundance of trees and foliage make it more private from neighbours and really makes you feel like you have your own piece of the forest – not to mention that some parts provide ample shade.
Parents have a clear view of the kids playing in the water from one of two decks, where you can also savour your morning coffee, indulge in a delicious barbecue, or enjoy a glass of wine taking in the sounds of nature and breathtaking display of colors or a dark-night sky…

The living room area is a spacious, urban-style haven with cottage-y touches complete with a pull-down sofa bed (sleeps 2), live edge coffee table and brand new, 51 inch Samsung Smart TV.
A workspace desk is also available with a chair to set your laptop down to catch up on work or research your week’s activities.
The dining room includes a rustic Edison-lit chandelier with a brand new, locally handcrafted, solid wood dining room set with a bench that altogether can seat 7.

THE KITCHEN
The lake house boasts a brand new, recently renovated (2023), cottage-chic fully-equipped kitchen.
The kitchen features modern, brand new stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher, flat-top stove & new fridge with filtered water.
The charm factor includes butcher block countertops, stone backsplash, retro-style toaster, kettle, and salt & pepper shakers as well as a sunrise-viewing awning window.

the bedrooms
At the end of the day, retreat to the comfort of our well-appointed bedrooms, where peaceful nights of restful sleep await. Wake up refreshed and ready to embark on another day of adventure or simply revel in the tranquility of the surroundings.
The master bedroom includes two brand new, lake-view awning windows, a fan, a King-sized bed, nightstands, closet and dresser.
The second bedroom offers a sunrise-view window with a fan, closet, dresser, games drawer (with poker set) and a single-over-double bunk bed that can sleep a total of 3.

the backyard
The backyard faces directly west and includes 70 feet of shore line. With a gradual, shallow entry into the water, the shore is safe for small children.
The backyard includes Adirondack chairs around a fire pit, which in Stone Mills there is currently no fire ban.
Take in the sun with two sun loungers as well as more fold up chairs for additional guests.
An outdoor patio set with umbrella allows you to dine in nature while the propane barbecue cooks up a storm.
Fishing is phenomenal and the lake includes Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, and Largemouth Bass.
A Stand up paddleboard (SUP), 2 kayaks, and a 2-person paddleboat are yours to use at your leisure.

THE FRONT YARD
A sizeable front yard is surrounded by trees but there is enough space for a Badminton net that is set up for play.
4 racquets and birdies are available as well a volleyball.

We have a plug-in hybrid and full EV, so we know that having an EV Charger out in cottage country is a must.
We have you covered with a Level 2 FLO EV Charger that includes both J1772 and Tesla connectors free for you to use as much as you want for the entirety of your stay.
